Hi, I'm Lorie. I am a mom with two young boys and an amazing husband. I understand the chaos being home with two kids serves up. Getting a shower is a luxury and although the thought of making every meal and snack from scratch seemed impossible, I gave it a try anyway. I promptly failed. And that's when Medium Food was born.

Rather than being a slow food wannabe, I became a medium food mama. A mom that values the importance of real food but needs a little convenience to keep her sanity and the kids happy. I care about what my family eats, where it comes from, what's in it, what impact it has on the environment and how it contributes to our health.

I hope to inspire others to adopt a slower way of eating by sharing my experiences, challenges, tips and recipes. I'll compare ingredients and prices of some of the most popular convenience foods to alternative brands as well as homemade versions. Thank you for stopping by!
